All play and no work makes Rusty and Kim dull.

It being Spring Break and us being essentially too broke to really go anywhere, but not so broke we can't buy stuff still, decided to update the dining room. Here is the obligatory before picture. The house was built in 75 or 79, and this is , i kid you not, the original paint job. this ugly beige is throughout the whole house. the people who had the house before us bought it new and NEVER PAINTED A SINGLE ROOM IN OVER 20 YEARS! When i took the switchplates off there was bare drywall under them. unbelievable. Hey Doug, does that picture on the wall look familiar?
We decided to do a two tone with a chair rail running around the room. On the paint cards the top color didn't look so beige, but it really is. It's a bit darker than what we had, but at least it's clean and fresh. sort of like Bryce's little tushie.
No air compressor and nail gun for us. We like good old sweat equity! Plus we can't afford an air compressor and a nail gun. Them's for fancy city folk. Note the tape measure clipped to my pocket. that's for in case i have to find out how long something is. Plus it makes me look all workman-esque. I deleted all the butt crack pictures, most of them were Kim anyway.
Here's the finished project. I put in a new ceiling light, i'm not sure you would really call it a chandeliere, because the old one was butt ugly and fake brass to boot.
Yay for Rusty and Kim! Thanks to our parents for raising kids who know how to use their hands as well as their overeducated and underpaid brains! I think i said or referred to Butts like 5 times this post.
