Free Mustache Rides!!!!

Image
Come One, Come All! i actually look like many of my relatives from up north. Or a cop. with a very bad mustache. My dad had one of these for years when he was a principal. Because he was everyone's Pal. Kim loves it and doesn't want me to shave it. See, she can't get enough. you know who else loves it? Optimus Prime. He's totally jealous that i can grow such a sweet stache and all he can do is turn from a truck into a robot. Though in truth, this is what Kim thinks.

The waves come in, the waves go out....

Image
The waves are done. They now go all around the room except for the bifold doors on the closet. they are still the ugly beige that the builders put in 20 some years ago. there's the ugly doors. they will be a nice clean white soon. I just need a few rain free days so they can dry outside. I'm gonna spraypaint them. ooo. CFC's are the best. "I agree that CFC's are the best. I also approve of the waves in Bryce's room"-JEJ "I don't like the waves or CFC's!!! I will pound them with my big hammer after i hammer Conan!"-some random big guy with a big hammer.

Fun with facial hair!

First we have the Ben Afflec... The pensive Ben Afflec.... The YMCA....alternatively the Cop, or the Leather boy.... The Blank expression on the Leather Boy.... Look, I even styled my nose hair! Next on deck.....The Richard Fry....

Making Waves. Do the Wave. Catch the Wave. Choose the one you like.

here's a hairy man drawing on the walls. usually you get in trouble for doing that, but i'm the daddy, so i get to do these things. I made the stencil too. that was the first draft also. no changes were necessary. i could have used a permanent marker. i used a pencil because i thought i may have needed to erase or modify. silly rabbit, pencils are for people who make mistakes. i didn't need to worry at all. my hand was steady and true. I rock. The view outside the window isn't too bad this time of year. The dogwood (?) is blooming. Uh oh! It looks like the wind is picking up and the waves are getting bigger. Small craft advisory is in effect. Better call Grandpa Hood (he's a volunteer Coast Guard dude)! NO! The waves are too big, better ditch the boat and break out the surfboard. looks like the sets are rolling in nice and even. Check out the barrels. Shaka Brah!

More April showers. I'm running out of cute things to say.

Barefoot and Presents! See, I still got it. (Instead of Barefoot and Pregnant, I said Barefoot and Presents, get it, Presents instead of Pregnant. Get it? I think my humor is wasted on you people.) Luke thought it was funny. he's rolling around on his back as we speak. See a couple of posts back. So, this was the family and friends (as opposed to the work and friends one of last post) shower. Andrea and Laura hosted us at Chris and Andrea's place. Thanks! Kim brought the camera, but didn't take any pictures, so i took pictures when i returned. Grandma and Grandpa Waldron came down to join in the fun, as well as Grandma and Grandpa Hood and Grandma Fry. Stacey and Keisha came as well, but they left before i came back to take pictures. I'm sure others took pictures during and we will have some to share at a later date. Oh yeah, Aunt Pat came too, all the way from Oneida, home of great, shiny silverware. Here's the hostesses, Ooo, surprise, surprise, Laur

April Showers (I'm so clever)

OOO, Cake. Everyone likes cake. Is Bryce going to be a girl? One might think that from the colors on the cake, but i'm not complaining or anything. I love the pink bows, flowers and shoes. Thanks Costco. I hope Tina doesn't get mad at me. We love you Tina. Seriously. Thanks for throwing such a great Shower. It is nice to know that people love us and care about us as much as you obviously do. We couldn't ask for better friends. You like us, you really, really like us! (hee hee hee, there, that should save my butt. It's not like we have to work with her or anything...). As you may have guessed, last friday Tina and Erin threw us our first baby shower. Lots of friends from work and yummy food. Tina even made a point of getting me some chicken wings. Chicken wings are good. MMMMMM, Chicken..... Conan likes Chicken wings i bet. Look, therapists! They do exist outside of the classroom. Just approach them slowly so's not to startle them. Ain't that

Ode to Conan

Image
Long ago, in a time far from today, there lived a man's man. that man was Conan the Barbarian. You must realize that i am not all that serious here. Conan, what is the best thing in Life?... Conan:"To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of the women!". Damn straight Conan. you the man. Hey, what's that symbol you are looking for look like? " ....Dah ting looged like dis - it hod two snake-hedds commink togeddah obah a sun und a moon.... ". So, we have seen Conan the barbarian, now we have Conan the septugenarian. Oh Arnold, what has being a Republican done to you? But seriously, Conan is like the best movie ever. Just the first one though. the second one (with Wilt Chamberland, say no more) sucked. The first one had James Earl Jones. Any movie with Arnold and James Earl Jones has to rock. I can just hear the lamentations of the women. I bet Maria Shriver lamentates when she sees the Governator withou

The glamourous life of Barbaro

This is what i see every day. Luke sits and waits for me to invite him onto my lap. I haven't shaved face or head since the operation, so i think that Luke thinks i am his long lost mother. He has taken to laying on my chest and biting my nipples. He even moves down my belly looking for more. No one ever accused him of being terribly smart. Cut him some slack. He has abandonment issues. Daddy likes the Deadliest Catch. High drama on the Bering Sea. I'm so bored. I have been going to PT a couple times a week, and i can drive, so i occasionally hit up Barnes and Noble to catch up on my trash magazine reading. I think one more week will be good and then I can head back to work.

OOO, two tone.

I've been feeling better and am able to walk on my own two feet, so I thought that I would get going on the baby's room again. The blue is very nice, and went on really thick. Now i just have to figure out how to do the waves. I'm going to make a template, but i need to have Kim help with the laser level to make sure we have a nice straight line to draw them on before i paint.

A Day in the Life.

Here's Kim doing Austyn's hair before a competition down at King's Dominion. It took her about an hour (with breaks for both) to do. About ten minutes later, as we were getting ready to put her to bed for a 7am wakeup, we got a call that they wanted french braids instead of curly ponytails. Nice. So it was back into the shower. they got 2nd again out of 5. Not too shabby. AWWW... He's soooo cute. I think that Luke realizes that there is a new addition to the family on the way. He has been acting extra cute lately. Look at that soft, fluffy little tummy. Don't you want to just want to give him a little belly rub?

Lets see what's new

Here is sweet little Olivia. She is so cool. Her parents are such nerds. I don't know where she gets it. she must take after her Uncle Rusty. I had my operation just before our Spring Break, so we had the next week off. I think Austyn started with the "I'm bored" on Monday. Not a good start. So we all decided that we would head to Baltimore and go to the Aquarium, as most of us hadn't been in years. I think Austyn was 2 or 3 the last time we went. She didn't even remember. Luckily they had free wheelchairs for me. Unluckily it was spring break for tons of other little rugrats who didn't want to move out of the way for the old guy in the wheelchair. we still got to see lots of cool stuff. The Dolphin show was a hit as usuall. we all liked the Skates and Rays. I thought we took pictures of us with various finned creatures, but i can't seem to find them, so here are the real stars of the aquarium. we liked the big fish there. he had a li

The gory details

Image
Check it out. here are some not too gory pictures of what they did to me. they actually drill through your tibia and into the femur. gnarly. then they harvest a bit of the patellar tendon (middle of the kneecap)(apparently not that important a bit of tendon) and run it through there and secure with screws. i wonder if i will set off the machines a the airport now. the last picture there is just a really cool picture of a forest of bikes taken at the World Singlespeed chamionships. i think it was either at Vermont or North Carolina. both beautiful places with or without a forest of singlespeeds.
