Double back

Austyn has been going to cheer camp and getting lots of tumble time in. She is working on a double back with the help of Anthony, her tumble coach. The second part is a round off back handspring that she did during a mini performance. We will get a better one later and put it up. She has a great one on her phone but we don't know how to get it off the phone and on the computer.

I keep thinking this stuff will taste good.

Hanging out on the towel exploring the difference between the wet sand and the dry stuff. Sure looks like it would be good to eat. I will mix it with my O's. it will make extra crunchy like Jiff.

Rockin out to a little Jay Mascis and the Fog.

I'm not putting my feet in that stuff. Who knows where it's been?

Playing in the surf on our second day at the beach. Daddy, you know there's little crabbies in there don't you? I'm not putting my feet down there. The beach is nothing but a bird's bathroom and the ocean is nothing but a fish toilet. Don't you listen to the Dead Milkmen?

YaY! My car finally looks complete with a kayak on top. It was a heavy bugger though. I definitely need to get one that's a bit lighter. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth though, I borrowed Dick's sea kayak in order to explore a little maritime forest and a canal that is supposed to be prime breeding ground for water moccasins. Sweet. Finally a canal on the Banks that isn't lined with huge houses and boats. Ah peace and quiet and solitude and the occasional crab swimming by. No water moccasins though. i was kinda bummed about that one. So, I didn't see any water moccasins or those big rodents (ROUS's?) called nutrias. Oh well maybe next time. I did see a very nice Heron. He was white and annoyed that i was there disturbing his peace. He decided to leave. I did see some other fauna as well as Mr. Heron. This was a particularly fierce one. Lucky for me he was caged up. I then stumbled across the only covered bridge in Eastern North Carolina. Appa

Ahh, the waterline.

pay no attention to daddy's belly. Is optical illusion from sand and water refracting things. really. some objects in mirror may appear larger. This sand much wetter than the sand up near the umbrella. Waves keep slapping me in face also. Is that cool? I think not. waves very rude, even if they are tasty. OOO, here come nother one. I grab it. Mama. Where my legs? One moment i play in nice hole, next minute my legs gone. Not sure I like this? Eh. I guess i ok with it. I guess that is what holes are for. Daddy dig them, i climb in them. Works for me. I could do this all day (and I did!). I have beach, colorful umbrella, beach chairs and a ho (or is it hoe?). What more does young boy need than a warm summer day spent using his ho. MMMMM, num num num. Tasty, tasty water.

Yup, we gots us a Beach Baby!

Oh Cabana boy! I need Mai Tai. Oh wait. I in cabana. I boy. Using powers of deduction that make me Cabana Boy. Damn. Who going to get me Mai Tai now? YUP, it's official, we have a beach baby. He inherited his mommys Beach DNA. Austyn went to Puerto Rico with her mom as a graduation present, so rather than sit at home and pine for her return, we went to the Banks. Bryce loved it! He loved jumping over the waves and watching Daddys man boobs bounce. The ticks on the outer banks are huge. Mama, what you mean I can't dig to China? I persistent and if daddy take turns with me we get to go see Olympic games. This pool very small. I like bigger one just over that way. the one with the waves and the fishies. Yeah, that the one. Hmmm. those waves look a bit ferocious. I not so sure about this Daddy. Oh. Ok. this not so bad. sticky and grainy, but fun. Very tasty water. Come daddy. We go jump waves. I lick Mommy shoulders. When in ocean, Mommy is flavor enhanced.

NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!

My Baby is growing up! NOOOOOOOOO! These pictures are from Austyn's 5th grade Moving Up ceremony. She's so big. Daddy cry. I love the difference between the girls and the boys at this age. the boys are all short and could care less what they wear, and Austyn is this stringbean who bought her dress three months ago and has been worrying about what shoes are going to go with it. (Socially awkward moment:Someone else had the same dress!) These are all the class smarties. This group won the Presidential award for having a 3.5 or higher GPA for all of 4th and 5th grade. Who is that cute little blonde over near the ficus tree? Yup, that would be my smart little girl (who was very surprised to be called up. She thinks everyone is smarter than her. Silly girl.) Goodbye Elementary School, Hello Middle School! The thing she is looking forward to the most is having a locker. WOO HOO! Check out the mani! It matches the dress, yes?

Sid would be so proud. I know Daddy is (he's jealous too).

Daddy, what you do to my hair? It not my fault you shave all yours off. Is this a nod to our Native American friends or snotty people from England circa 1976? Heee Heee Heee. Man, Who's got the twinkies? Oi! Wacher lookin at, Ya Wankers! Daddy, I not sure you have correctly grounded this light switch. Is hair raising experience. But I sure look cool and save lots of money on hair product.

Is that... Could it be??? Why, Yes, IT IS.... It's A Genny Screamer!!!!!

MMMMMMMM. Golden goodness from the banks of the Genesee River in RaChaCha. Winner of several awards for something beer related. It really is creamy too. Yummm! This is the beer that I used to snag from Dad to wash down the Seagrams that I also snagged from Dad. Most of the time they were warm, so when i found them the other day I just had to grab a sixer and give it a try. Surprisingly good. Really good. Awesome and refreshing actually. I may have found another favorite beer to go along with Newcastle. Dan tells me that PBR's are the new hipster fave, but the jury is still out on that one. I'll have to see if I can find some in cans when we go to the Cabin, so Dan, Taylor and I can re-live our high school days.

Bryce develops a sense of humor

Bryce appears to enjoy slapstick humor. In addition to the video, he also thinks it's funny when he pulls hair and Austyn and Mommy say "ouch!"

Bryce in the Pool

Serious boy in the pool. The water was pretty cold, but Bryce did not mind. I love grass. Can I eat this? Father and Son
